Robertson Natural (gravity) Ventilation systems are designed to produce and maintain predictable conditions in commercial, general warehousing and industrial buildings.

Since 1918 HH Robertson has designed, built and installed gravity ventilation systems for thousands of industrial structures.

Natural ventilation systems use the naturally occuring thermodynamic forces in the building envelope to draw fresh air through low level wall mounted air inlets into the workplace and dispel waste air through roof-mounted exhaust systems. Properly designed, manufactured and installed, natural ventilation systems offer a number of advantages over power driven units in that they:

• Are less costly to install and acquire
• Require no power to operate
• Are quiet, and do not vibrate
• Have no motor driven parts
• Seldom require maintenance
• Are self regulating
• Provide daylighting

A properly designed natural ventilation scheme will also help eliminate interior condensation in metal-clad buildings, and will normally reduce or eliminate the need for costly roof insulation.

Materials of Manufacture
Robertson gravity ventilation systems may be manufactured from a range of materials depending on their anticipated exposure to corrosive forces.

For industrial applications where damaging natural and/or man-made corrosive agents pass through exhaust ventilators on a routine basis, the highest level of protection is necessary to adequately protect ventilator components.

For applications such as these, Robertson offers a number of premier coating systems which provide predictable levels of protection in harsh environments. Our protective coating systems are based on Robertson's unique Versacor barrier coat, a 'flexibilised' epoxy developed by Robertson for its exclusive use worldwide.

In less aggressive environments lower levels of protection may be employed to safeguard the performance of the components involved.
