Design features

  • Coefficient of Discharge: As determined by independent tests is a minimum of 0.36
  • Unobtrusive: Designed to meet architectural requirements of low silhouette and modern design and provide minimum resistance to wind forces.
  • Weathertight: Tested and proven in extreme conditions to exclude wind and driving rain and may be fitted with additional monsoon rain baffles to give added protection under monsoon rainfall conditions.
  • Ease of installation: Rapidly installed into all forms of roofing with no additional framework required and no complex flashings.
  • Materials: Can be supplied in a wide range of cladding materials including Versacor coated sheeting.

Specification

Ventilators shall be of the Streamline Guided Flow type (continuous opening) as manufactured by HH Robertson and shall be of the size shown on the drawings. Ventilators shall be weatherproof under all positive pressure conditions.

They should be capable of self-cleaning by action of the elements with provision for carrying water and normal wind transported soil matter to the outside.

The ventilator shall have a minimum Coefficient of Discharge of 0.36 as determined by an independent test laboratory.

The ventilator shall be capable of exhausting a total of ?.m3/sec. for the total length shown on the drawings, based upon a temperature differential of ??°C and an effective height of ??m.

Ventilators shall have a free area of exhaust at least equal to the stack opening and shall be designed to withstand a wind load of 1.44 kPa, (this can be varied to suit local conditions).

Ventilators shall be constructed of (select one) - Versacor Protected Metal, Zincalume - Plain or Painted, Aluminium.

The ventilators shall be equipped with suction diaphragms spaced at no more than 1.5m intervals to ensure positive performance under all conditions of wind action.

The damper (if required) shall be an integral part of the ventilator and constructed from similar material. Dampers shall be (select one) - Manually operated by chain (or cord), Pneumatically operated from positions indicated on the drawings.
