Robertson and Steeledale provided engineering, manufacturing and installation of approximately 40,000 square metres of SF1000 Low Profile ridge ventilators to the new aluminium smelter project in Richards Bay.

Ventilators were provided to the Potrooms A, B, C & D and Bake Oven, at the site. The mill finish aluminium vents were manufactured in modules off-site, then transported to the smelter for final installation.

The ventilator exhaust performance was calculated to meet the specific project requirements. Following these calculations a scale model of the Potroom was constructed to prove that the design airflows would be achieved prior to commencement of manufacture.
